Seido Sunnybank

Our Vision

Seido Sunnybank Karate aims to offer a learning environment open to people and families from all walks of life and afford them the opportunity to learn and practice Seido Karate, where they will develop not only physical skills but also high moral character.

Seido Karate is not only a physical martial art practiced inside the training hall (dojo), Seido is a way of life, with applications both inside and outside of the dojo

Our Story

Ever since Sam first started Seido Karate in 2001, he dreamed of "growing up" to be able to teach karate and share the joyful experience of learning karate, with new students, both young and old.

In 2015, after promoting to nidan and having trained in Reefton in New Zealand, Bayside in Victoria and Brisbane in Queensland and travelling to Seido dojo around the world, Sam started preparations to open a dojo in Sunnybank.

Sam’s best friend and housemate at the time, Brandon, became the co-founder and first student of Seido Sunnybank Karate which opened its doors on 3 February 2016 and has welcomed over a hundred students since, as young as four and as mature as 80.

Sam and Brandon continue to teach the majority of classes and have developed a strong and diverse group of black belt instructors who assist them with running the comprehensive timetable offered by Seido Sunnybank.
