Seido Juku Karate
Seido Juku Karate, founded by Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura in 1976, has become a global martial arts organisation with tens of thousands of students worldwide. The philosophy of “Seido”, which means "sincere way" and was inspired by Confucius's The Middle Path, and emphasises sincerity and personal growth, both inside and outside the dojo.
Kaicho T. Nakamura
Kaicho Nakamura, the founder of the World Seido Karate Organization, is a 9th dan black belt with over 60 years of experience in martial arts. His journey began with Goju Ryu under Kei Miyagi and transitioned to Kyokushin under Masutatsu Oyama, where he became the youngest black belt in Japan. Kaicho's competitive career included a tough victory over a Thai kickboxing champion. He served as the Chief Instructor at Kyokushin Honbu and led Kyokushin Karate in America before establishing Seido Karate in 1976.
Seido Karate, emphasising love, respect, and obedience, has grown into a global organization with over 20,000 students worldwide. On top of his responsibilities as the chairman of Seido Karate, Kaicho remains actively involved in teaching and guiding students towards personal and spiritual growth through karate training.
Nidaime A. Nakamura
Nidaime Nakamura, son of the founder of Seido Karate, grew up immersed in the style. He began teaching at Honbu in 1996 and has since become a key figure within the organisation. He serves as a chief instructor, organises major events, and was formally named Kaicho's successor in 2008.
Nidaime's leadership reflects a blend of Eastern and Western influences, shaped by his family and his own experiences. He faces the ongoing challenge of balancing tradition with innovation, ensuring Seido's continued growth while preserving its core principles.
